Gold Standard Pre-Workout Review
Optimum Nutrition have been without a good product in this category for some time. With that in mind we’re going to go in depth with this gold standard pre-workout review!
This is an entry level pre-workout. It’s designed to pack the basics you need to train hard in the gym.
Every serve packs:
3000mg Creapure Creatine: Strength and energy for explosive lifting. Simple, well proven and very effective.
1500mg Beta-Alanine (Carnosyn): Buffer lactic acid and allow for better performance before reaching failure. Works perfectly with creatine for a dramatic effect.
1500mg L-Citrulline Mallate: Promotes performance and increased nitric oxide production. This means better pumps and workout performance.
375mg Acetyl L-Carnitine HCL: Concentrated form of carnitine for improved mental focus and performance.
250mg N-Actyl L-Tyrosine: Keeping you balanced and focus for consistent performance throughout your workout. Along with caffeine gold standard pre-workout provides clean energy and mental focus.
175mg Caffeine: This is coming from natural sources and provides a clean energy hit without being too crazy.
25mg Astragin: Improving uptake of the other ingredients in the formula for maximum effect.
Dosing across most ingredients is pretty good. Not quite 100% of clinical but for a entry level type product they’re very good.
Energy on this product is also vert clean. The naturally sourced caffeine hits a bit harder than normal and is quite fast acting.
The mental focus was also really good and the drive to keep training very strong.
Pumps to be honest weren’t all that great. The nitric oxide component of this product is pretty minimal. If you like pumps we’d recommend stacking this with a nitric oxide booster such as Stacked N.O..
This is where this product really comes into its own. If you have tried anything from Optimum Nutrition you know they have their flavours down. This is no exception. Flavours are quite simply delicious and with 5 options to h
Value for Money
Quite simply-best on the market. 30 serves for $34.95 makes this $1.16/serve. When you factor in how much is actually in each serve you realise the value is insane!
All in all-this is a great product. Keep in mind this is an entry level pre-workout. If you’re expecting the most complete product on the market you’ll be pretty disappointed. However when you factor in the ingredients, dosing, flavours and crazy value it’s hard not to be impressed with this product.
If you want a high stimulant product this may not be the best option for you. with 175mg of caffeine this is not crazy. Double scooping is of course an option but this takes away the value offered by the product.
